Taylor Deal New IIS Principal

Inman, S.C. – Spartanburg School District One is pleased to announce that Mr. Taylor Deal has been named the next principal of Inman Intermediate School, succeeding Mrs. Karen Bush, who will retire at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

Mr. Deal brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, most recently serving internationally as an assistant principal, where he focused on building strong school communities and improving student achievement. Prior to that, he led Beech Springs Intermediate School as principal, earning an “Excellent” rating on the state report card. His leadership background also includes serving as an assistant principal at multiple schools across Spartanburg.

“It is truly an honor to be named principal of Inman Intermediate School,” said Deal. “I believe a school should be a place where students feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best. I look forward to working alongside the incredible students, staff, and families at IIS to continue fostering a positive learning environment.”

Mr. Deal holds a Bachelor of Arts from North Greenville University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. He and his wife, Lindsay, along with their two children, Ella (16) and Foster (12), are excited to return to the Upstate and become part of the Inman community.
