Spartanburg One's student body president Sarah Campbell (LHS) and Camden Souther (CHS), along with the Board of Trustees and Dr. Ron Garner presented two checks to local partners at the November Board Meeting. Both of these checks are to benefit those in need in our community.
Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas received a check for $4,246.60 to assist children battling cancer. Mrs. Kim Melick, CCPC Director of Operations, stated, "CCP is truly honored to receive this check from all the schools in the district. It’s evident that they truly care and want to make a difference in the lives of families that have a child battling cancer."
"Thanks to these two student body presidents from Chapman and Landrum High Schools for accepting the challenge and then putting it to the schools. All 10 schools came up with creative ideas to raise money to where D1 by far exceeded the goal. On behalf of Thanksgiving turkey & groceries recipients, we say THANK YOU to D1 Schools, D1 Administration, and the community," stated Mrs. Susan Tompkins (OH Director). Operation Hope received a check for $3,818.29 to provide Thanksgiving meals.
Spartanburg One Schools, the Administrative Office, and the Board of Trustees all contributed a grand total of $8,064.89! Thank you, Spartanburg One!
