Emily Church- Chapman Competition Cheer Coach Announcement

Chapman High School is excited to welcome Emily Church as the new Head Varsity Competition Cheerleading Coach. A familiar face in the Chapman cheer community, Church brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to the program. With her deep-rooted connection to the school and a strong background in competitive cheer, she is ready to guide the Panthers to continued success.

Church has been an integral part of the Chapman cheerleading community, previously serving as the Assistant Varsity Sideline and Competition Cheer Coach since 2021. A former Chapman cheerleader herself, she understands the tradition of excellence and dedication within the program. During her time as assistant coach, she played a pivotal role in securing four consecutive region championships and achieving multiple top-three finishes at the AAA State Championship.

A proud alumna of North Greenville University, Church earned a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education while also serving as a volunteer coach for Chapman High School's competition cheer team during her time in college. This experience allowed her to develop her coaching skills while giving back to the program that helped shape her own cheerleading career.

Beyond the cheerleading mat, Church is a dedicated first-grade teacher at Campobello Gramling School. Her passion for education and mentorship is evident in her approach to coaching, where she emphasizes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and academic excellence.

"I am honored to take on the role of Head Coach and continue building upon the strong tradition of excellence at Chapman High School," said Church. "I look forward to working with our talented athletes to foster a positive and competitive spirit, both on and off the mat."

Chapman High School Athletic Director Michael Pettit expressed his enthusiasm for Church’s promotion, stating, “Emily Church is an outstanding leader who truly understands the culture and expectations of Chapman Cheer. Her experience as both an athlete and a coach, along with her commitment to developing student-athletes, makes her the perfect fit to continue our program’s success. We are excited to see the future of Chapman Cheer under her leadership.”
