By digging into the past! 🔍 Students in Mrs. Ballentine's 6th Grade Social Studies class became junior archaeologists during their Cookie Excavation Lab. Students practiced the patience and precision needed to uncover "fossils". This lab helped to bring their Stone Age unit to life!🦴🍪 #LiveLearnLandrum

Did you know? If your student is enrolled in Agriculture this school year—even if their Ag class isn’t until second semester—they are an FFA member and can participate in FFA activities now!
📅 FFA Meetings: We typically meet Thursdays from 3:00–4:00 p.m. Meetings are open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade members. We spend time with our animals, plan upcoming FFA events and activities, work on projects, and have some fun together! Students are picked up in the car line at 4:00.
🧥 Official FFA Jackets: Students who plan to be active in FFA are encouraged to purchase their own official FFA jacket. Jackets are used for competitions, conferences, ceremonies, trips, and other FFA events—and there’s nothing quite like putting on that blue corduroy jacket for the first time! Other pieces of Official Dress, such as black pants, white shirts, and black shoes, can often be found inexpensively at thrift or consignment stores.

I began my teaching career in P.E. at Inman Elementary before teaching Computer Science at Woodruff High School last year. Although I was born in Southern California, I moved to the Upstate when I was in fourth grade. I attended Campobello-Gramling School and am a proud 2018 graduate of Landrum High School, so it's exciting to return to Spartanburg One! My wife, Kali, is also a teacher in the district at O.P. Earle Elementary. She serves as the girls varsity basketball head coach, while I coach varsity boys basketball as an assistant coach and varsity boys golf. When I'm not teaching or coaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing golf with my brothers and friends, and cheering on my favorite sports teams. I look forward to an exciting year of learning, creativity, and problem-solving with my students!"

Our 7th-grade Honors Math students had a blast taking learning outside as they participated in a fun Barbie Bungee Jump Challenge! Through this hands-on activity, students explored concepts like measurement, proportional relationships, data collection, and prediction while working collaboratively and creatively.
