This week at LMS: D-Team Football hosts Woodruff at LHS at 5:00 pm on Thursday. Our Fall Movie Night is Friday from 6-8 pm. Admission is $5, but bring extra money for concessions. LMS students only. You may wear pajamas and bring a pillow and blanket. Students must be picked up by 8:00. #LiveLearnLandrum

🚁 Up, Up, and Away! 🚁 Mrs. Farmer’s 6th-grade science students took learning to new heights with a hands-on paper helicopter challenge! Students designed and built their own paper helicopters, then put them to the test to see how well they flew. But the challenge didn't stop there! Each student made modifications to their original design, experimenting with different features to improve flight performance. ✂️📄 Through trial, error, and a little creative problem-solving, our young engineers discovered an important lesson in the engineering design process: test, evaluate, improve, and try again! 💡 We love seeing our Cardinals think like engineers and learn that sometimes the best ideas take a little tweaking! ❤️🖤 #LiveLearnLandrum #HandsOnLearning #RespectExcellenceDetermination

🔊🎶 Sound Science in Action! 🎶🔊 Who knew a paper towel tube and two plastic cups could become a speaker? 🤯 Mrs. Farmer’s 6th-grade science students explored the science of sound waves by building their own homemade speakers using just a few everyday materials! Students discovered how sound waves travel, reflect off the surfaces inside the cups, and are redirected to make the sound louder. This simple but clever experiment brought the science of sound to life! Landrum Middle School has earned an EXCELLENT rating on the South Carolina School Report Card! 🖤❤️🎉 And an achievement this big deserves an equally BIG celebration! 🌟 Our Cardinals were treated to a surprise pep rally as Dr. Walker shared the exciting news with the student body! The celebration was filled with cheers, noisemakers, confetti, and even a little Cha-Cha Slide! 🎶🎊 To top it all off, students enjoyed FREE snow cones! 🍧

Cardinal Volleyball had a great season and conference tournament! The team defeated Woodruff Middle School 2-0 in the semifinals on Saturday and lost by 2 points in the 3rd set of the Championship match.

Stepping back in time! Mr. Wesley's students used ClassVR to explore the world of the American Revolution and SC DISCUS to research historical details for their creative writing projects. This week at LMS: On Monday, Volleyball travels to Blacksburg. They will host the first round of the Conference Tournament on Wednesday. Thursday is make-up picture day; select 8th-graders will take the PSAT; and D-Team Football is at Sims. On Friday, Chick-fil-A biscuits will be for sale in our morning car line. $5 each while they last! Friday is also the last day to order an FFA hat for $20, and it's a hat day. Bring $1 (or more) to wear your favorite hat. These hat days are sponsored by our FFA and are a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness. #LiveLearnLandrum

Which will pop first? Students in Mrs. Farmer's class tested their hypothesis about how the color of a balloon could affect how fast it pops by using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun. They were quite surprised by the results! It was a popping good time for a Friday! #LiveLearnLandrum

Rain couldn't stop our students! Even though the weather moved things indoors on Wednesday morning, nearly 130 LMS students gathered for See You at the Pole Day. Students lifted up prayers for our school community, local and national leaders, and people around the globe who do not have the freedom to pray openly. Eighth-grader Rylie Bruner led a thoughtful devotion on Matthew 11:28.
