Honoring History and Remembrance at LMS ~ This morning, Landrum Middle School's 7th graders participated in a powerful 9/11 panel discussion. Connected to their current novel study of Alan Gratz’s Ground Zero, the event gave students a deeper understanding of the history, sacrifice, and lasting impact of September 11, 2001. In honor of the 25th anniversary, this year’s guest panel was the largest to date, featuring a diverse group of community members and special guests:

Stacy Rosenbaum – Former flight attendant
Captain Garry Lawson – Commercial airplane pilot

Paula Petty Dotson – Owner/operator of Petty Funeral Home
Students observed quiet moments of silence for each plane crash and wrapped up the morning with a thoughtful Q&A session. By digging into the past! 🔍 Students in Mrs. Ballentine's 6th Grade Social Studies class became junior archaeologists during their Cookie Excavation Lab.
