This week at LMS: Our Jr. Beta Induction Ceremony is Tuesday night in our gymnasium. There's a small reception at 6:00 in the gym lobby. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:30. Mr. Millwood's classes have been studying the Harlem Renaissance this week. Students have been studying the artistic movement, Langston Hughes's "Mother To Son" and have researched artists from the era. Students researched people like Duke Ellington, Josephine Baker, Nora Zeale Hurston, and Ella Fitzgerald. Mrs. Quinn's classes completed a Woolly Mammoth extinction lab. They used dice to determine the outcome of the population. Some numbers kept the animals living, others caused death, and one represented the birth of a new mammoth.
